Frequently asked questions

1. How does an air cooler work?

An evaporative air cooler works by introducing moisture into the air and lowering its temperature. The air cooler takes in dry air, moistens it with water vapour, and releases cooled air into the room. This form of cooling is cheaper and more energy-efficient than traditional refrigeration techniques.

2. What are the key requirements for efficient cooling?

Dry & Hot Climate: Works best in areas with Low Humidity.
Good Ventilation: Needs a window or door open to allow airflow and prevent excess humidity indoors.
Regular Water Refill: The water tank must be kept filled for consistent cooling.

3. Do air coolers require a lot of electricity to run?

Air cooling is the most energy-efficient cooling technology available. Operating costs for an air cooler are 1/10th of a traditional air conditioner. An air cooler consumes nearly the same amount of energy as a standard ceiling fan.

Although the energy consumption of a ceiling fan and air cooler is similar, the cooling effect is considerably different. Air coolers can cover a larger area, actually cool the air, and work noiselessly.

4. Are air coolers effective in a humid environment?

Although air coolers work best in dry, arid conditions, they can still provide a cooling effect as long as the humidity is below the saturation point. In other words, air coolers are effective till the air humidity reaches beyond 50%.

Air coolers may be less effective in moderately humid areas, but they can still provide ventilation and air circulation. However, air coolers are not recommended in areas with high relative humidity.
